January 2018: Raising awareness of sustainable development and assessing the level of knowledge around SDG 7
In support of the revision of SDG7 at the 2018 High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development Following the Rio+20 conference, Sulitest (Sustainability Acculturation Tools) was created as an easy-to-use, multiple-choice online assessment platform composed of a set of identical questions for all users worldwide, as well as other specialized modules taking into account: national, regional and cultural realities.
As of December 2017, Sulitest has been administered to nearly 80,000 students across 700 universities in 61 countries. Each Sulitest question is currently aligned with one or more of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, creating one of the largest databases of citizen awareness and understanding of the SDGs.
Sulitest is currently working with various UN entities and other stakeholders to create SDG-specific modules in its platform, with the goal of increasing global awareness of specific SDGs and identifying knowledge gaps for students around the world.
Sustainability acculturation" refers to the knowledge, skills, and attitudes that enable individuals to engage deeply in building a sustainable future and help them make informed and effective decisions toward that end.
In support of the upcoming in-depth review of SDG 7 at the 2018 session of the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF), the Division for Sustainable Development of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DSD/UN DESA.) ), the FPHN Secretariat is leading a process to create a specific module at Sulitest SDG 7 to raise awareness and assess knowledge of all stakeholders related to this goal.
